Doilies are Back!

Or at least I think so. Allow me to preface this post with: I am not over the age of 60...

Alright, so doilies are old fashioned and you buy them at the antiques and second hand stores. Most doilies are made from some kind of tatting. I have known how to do the lost art of needle tatting for some time now, but it has always been a tedious task. I know why it really is a dying art.

That is when I found needle crochet. I made a snowflake, a small bell ornament, and then... A doily! Yes, I crocheted a doily. Although it is a fairly traditional pattern, I was able to use very non-traditional colors to increase the interest. Now I am thinking about the possibility of one for each season; this will be spring. ;)
