I was asked to make seven different quilts for people to give as gifts to their family and loved ones. This is the lighthouse quilt which was inspired by some one's love for lighthouses and the red and navy color scheme.
The light blue background fabric actually has a globe type map printed all over it. The darker blue prints consist of dark blue waves and water and a dark blue sky with stars and moons. The back is a really rich red

with a faint swirl print. Using these unique fabrics was a way to make a themed quilt without it being too child-like. I love that themes can definitely translate through different generations by using different patterns, textures, and prints.
